With the impacts from Corona there are many possibilities for people in various disciplines to lose their current jobs or not being to find a job or being forced to take an indefinite furlough. With the help of a Senior colleague and friend who is an Experienced Civil Engineer I have compiled few areas of Opportunities for People who have completed their Civil Engineering program or related field of Study.

I am excluding the obvious ones of a Campus Recruitment or Direct recruitment from Colleges or Technical Institutes. I have categorized the various areas to similar buckets for easier understanding. Please note this is not an exhaustive list – I am only listing some of the key areas that can help the thinking process.

• Setting up Property Management Company offering Property Inspection Services, Construction Stage Inspection, Property Due Diligence Services.
• Home Renovation Services Company offering Renovation services or upgrade of current Facilities or Building
• Maintenance Services Company offering Total End to End Maintenance Services especially for Multi-Storeyed Buildings & Large Communities
• Setting up a Facilities Management Company and offering services for Large Corporates or Industrial Parks in the areas of Facilities Management & Facilities Maintenance 

Advisory Services, Consulting and Allied Services

• Becoming a Registered Valuer for Land & Building Assets
• Become a Certifying Authority under Local Planning Authority Bodies such as Registered Construction Engineer (RCE) , Registered Quality Auditor (RQA), Registered Architect (RA) , Registered Engineer (RE) or Registered Construction Management Agency (RCMA) , Registered Quality Audit Agency ( RQAA ), Registered Geo-technical Agency ( RGA ) etc.
• Becoming a Competent person for Stability Certification under Inspector of Factories (Director of Industrial Safety & Health )
• Becoming a Competent person and become a Factory Inspector under Inspector of Factories (Director of Industrial Safety & Health )
• Becoming a Competent person for Stability certification of Public Buildings (Collector’s Panel of Engineers)

These are some areas which can help people to find opportunities. Civil Engineering is an evergreen field and the opportunities are immense. In India we are just completing the first generation in terms of Building Useful Life  ( 60 years ) and Industries have grown only in the last 20 years. We are a very young nation and the demands and needs of people are only growing with respect to Homes and Offices and Factories.
